Project No 101

Painted kitchen in an Edwardian house

This kitchen was completely refurbished. The client was very much involved with the design, they wanted a spacious kitchen to be lived in - rather than just for preparing meals. This was achieved by leaving space at the end of the run of wall cupboards and using a slimmer moulding on the doors. The moulding of the base units matched other original mouldings. The wall cupboards are unusually tall which works well in this high ceilinged room and the worktops are very deep to give a good work surface. Fully integrated kitchen units hide the electrical appliances. To complete a delightful project, we made a kichen table in beech with painted poplar legs to complement the painted cabinets.
